Our Club
The Culver City Woman's Club was founded over 100 years ago. One of its founding members was Lillian Culver, the wife of Harry Culver, the founder of Culver City, and many of its original members were Culver City school teachers.
Today we are a culturally diverse group of caring and passionate women finding creative and fun ways to raise money and collect items needed by members of our community. In keeping with the spirit of our founding members, we award yearly scholarships to Culver City school students as well as donate yearly to Meals on Wheels, SAVES, Lange Foundation, and a host of other worthy causes.
The Culver City Woman's Club is a member of the General Federation of Women's Clubs (GFWC) and the California Federation of Women's Clubs (CFWC). The GFWC is an international women’s organization dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service. Collectively, we are Living the Volunteer Spirit.
The CFWC is a statewide non-profit service organization with 10,000 members. Clubs offer leadership and personal growth opportunities to members while enriching the lives of others through philanthropic service. Its motto “Strength United is Stronger” reminds us that more can be accomplished when we unite our efforts to serve others.
What We Do
The Culver City Woman's Club offers its members various avenues to use their thoughts, ideas and talents to support and enrich the community.
In addition to conducting a monthly business luncheon meeting followed by a guest speaker or entertainer, we also:
PUT THE "FUN" IN FUNDRAISING at our monthly lunches, bingo and bunco games, musical and theater events and we enjoy tours of various cultural enrichment and educational places of interest
KEEP FIT AND SOCIALLY CONNECTED by walking bi-weekly at the Westfield Mall in Culver City, followed by a friendly chat over cups of coffee
PUT OUR TALENTS TO WORK IN FUN WAYS such as making blankets and scarfs for veterans and Meals on Wheels recipients and creating adorable stuffed bears for young foster children
AND MUCH MORE
