Who We Are
General Federation of Women's Clubs

The General Federation of Women's Clubs (GFWC) is an international women’s organization dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service. Collectively, we are Living the Volunteer Spirit.
It was organized in 1890, bringing together various women’s clubs from across the country. GFWC unites its more than 60,000 members in affiliated clubs in every state and more than a dozen countries through a common purpose of community service.
California Federation of Women's Clubs

The California Federation of Women’s Club (CFWC) has a membership base of more than 10,000. The California members carry out their clubs’ projects of education, social welfare and civic interests. Clubs offer leadership and personal growth opportunities to members while enriching the lives of others through philanthropic service. Its motto “Strength United is Stronger” reminds us that more can be accomplished when we unite our efforts to serve others.

Together, our national, state and local organizations offer leadership in training and an opportunity to develop an
individuals talent to the fullest.

The Culver City Woman's Club was founded over 100 years ago in 1920. One of its founding members was Lillian
Culver, the wife of Harry Culver, the founder of Culver City, and many of its original members were Culver City
school teachers. With many social, cultural and philanthropic activities it has been and continues to be a vibrant
and contributing member of the community.
In keeping with the spirit of our founding members, today we are a culturally diverse group of caring and passionate
women finding creative and fun ways to raise money and collect items needed by members of our community.
Also, in keeping with the spirit of our founding members, we award yearly scholarships to Culver City school
students as well as donate to a host of other worthy causes.
The Culver City Woman's Club is a member of the General Federation of Women's Clubs (GFWC) and the California
Federation of Women's Clubs (CFWC). When you become a member of the Culver City Woman's Club, you
automatically become a member of both the GFWC and CFWC.

What We Do
The Culver City Woman's Club offers its members various avenues to use their thoughts, ideas and talents to support and enrich the community.

In addition to conducting a monthly business luncheon meeting with a guest speaker or entertainer, we also:
PUT THE "FUN" IN FUNDRAISING at our lunches, bunco games, theater events and other fun activities. We also enjoy tours of various cultural enrichment and educational places of interest
KEEP FIT AND SOCIALLY CONNECTED by walking on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9:30 to 10:30 am at the Westfield Mall in Culver City, followed by a friendly chat over cups of coffee at Starbucks ~ just inside of Macy's on the second floor. We walk in groups at our own pace. You are invited to join us - even if you are not a club member. If you want to skip the walking but would like to meet us and enjoy a chat with our friendly members, then just show up at Starbucks at 10:30 am.
PUT OUR TALENTS TO WORK IN FUN WAYS such as crocheting and knitting blankets and scarfs for veterans and Meals on Wheels recipients.
AND MUCH MORE
